Who we are
Andrew Bledsoe serves as Chief Operating Officer at Opacity Labs, where he leverages his extensive web3 and blockchain expertise to drive strategic initiatives in the digital asset space. With over two decades of experience across finance, real estate, and emerging technologies, he brings a unique blend of traditional business acumen and innovative technology solutions.
Andrew began his career in investment banking, serving as an Analyst at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. from 2004 to 2007, where he supported Jonathan S. Barnett, a Senior Advisor in the office of Alan D. Schwartz, the final CEO at the time of JPMorgan's acquisition in 2008. He later served as Managing Director for Swiss-based Oppenheimer Investments AG.
In 2011, Andrew co-founded the renowned coliving brand Ollie, where he joined forces with NYC-based Simon Baron Development to construct North America's largest purpose-built coliving tower: a 42-story mixed-use building in the heart of Long Island City, Queens. As Chief Operating Officer, Andrew was responsible for the ideation of go-to-market strategies that led to the implementation and daily operations of more than 800 coliving beds across four North American locations. He successfully scaled Ollie's footprint from New York City to Los Angeles and markets in between, garnering participation from capital providers including AIG, Société Générale, Prudential, JPMorgan, and Citizens Bank.Andrew pioneered several key innovations at Ollie, including the development of a proprietary web-based roommate matching platform for leasing multi-bedroom suites and an open-ended mobile coliving concierge app that became the backbone for onsite hospitality and event-driven services. Notable projects included partnering with Monadnock Development in 2016 to deliver coliving to a unique eight-story factory-built all micro-studio building in NYC's Kips Bay neighborhood, and collaborating with a Pittsburgh-based developer in 2018 to deliver the first building of a multi-phase mixed-use development in the up-and-coming Friendship neighborhood near Carnegie Mellon University. At the time of Andrew's exit from day-to-day management, Ollie had thousands of beds in its pipeline and had achieved precedent-setting Net Promoter Scores (NPS).
In 2020, Andrew was asked to establish the operating company for London developer Dandi, a premier global coliving platform on a socially driven mission. Under his guidance, Dandi successfully launched its flagship micro studio location, adapting a 1980s vintage office building in the Wembley neighborhood of West London, with multiple other developments nearing completion.
Andrew also served as employee #1 in the proptech firm Plentific's US-based rollout, where he held the position of Head of US Operations. In this role, he was responsible for scaling the team from inception to a 20-person operation, establishing the foundation for the company's American market expansion.Since joining Opacity in 2023, Bledsoe has applied his operational expertise to the web3 ecosystem, helping drive the company's strategic initiatives in the blockchain space.
He holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Development (MSRED) from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Finance concentration from the University of Central Florida, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He is a Certified Apartment Manager and maintains real estate licenses in New York, New Jersey, Florida, and California, bringing specialized knowledge in RWAs (Real World Assets) and emerging technologies.
